Mr. Wilkinson was a member of Kenly Methodist Church where he served many years on the Board of Trustees.

He served on the Kenly School District Committee, the Kenly Board of Commissioners and was a director of the Kenly Savings & Loan Association.

Mr. Wilkinson had four children: L.C. Wilkinson, Jr., Ernest Y. Wilkinson, Lillian W. Williams and Maye Wilkinson Talton.
