Effie Stancil Renfrow

Robert and Effie were married February 11, 1922. They farmed tobacco in Wilson and Johnston counties most of their lives. Robert took pride in his tobacco crop and enjoyed showing it off to Sunday visitors. He was one of the most knowledgeable and proficient tobacco farmers in the Glendale community and had the respect of his peers and younger farmers.

Effie was a quiet, patient, loving and unassuming Christian lady and was widely respected in the community. She was a skillful seamstress and won ribbons for her crocheting and knitting. She contributed considerable in the planting and harvesting of the tobacco. She enjoyed the fellowship of her church and club.

Both Effie and Robert were members of the Center Ridge Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contribution by their children:
Grace Renfrow Dettenmayer, Ralph Viron Renfrow and James Robert Renfrow, Jr.
