As well as being the mother of four children, she also helped raise other family members; Mildred Hendricks, Mamie Brown, Bobby Rae Bunch, Carlton Shird and Claressa Alicia Campbell. He beloved daughter, Hilda, passed away in 1980.

Mrs. Jones enjoyed being an active homemaker who raised her children in a Christian home, teaching them to be respectful and loving. She is a member of Mincey Chapel FWB Church where she enjoys singing in the choir, is a member of the Missionary Club, a Sunday School teacher, and also a Mother of the church. She has been Senior Choir President for over 25 years.

Other interests include reading her Bible, working puzzles, and making crafts at the Senior Citizens Club.

She has also worked as a housekeeper and a baby-sitter for various Kenly families throughout the years. Her greatest joy is to take care of children. Family members and friends say this is very evident by the number of folks that call her "Mother".
