Innovative Young Farmer of the Year

Dear Friend,

The Tobacco Farm Life Museum realizes the importance of rewarding the hard work, and innovative thinking of our young farmers in North Carolina.  As you know, the average age of our farmers is increasing, and the number of farms is decreasing.  However, the need for food and fiber is on the rise.

North Carolina’s future is dependent on educated and dedicated young farmers.  Whether they are currently working on the farm, or studying for a career in agribusiness, these individuals need to be recognized for their enthusiasm to continue and expand the field.

I am asking you to pass along this application to individuals who you think deserve to be recognized.  The award is being sponsored by the Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina.  It will be presented to the recipient at the Museum’s annual “Breakfast with the Commissioner” event at the Southern Farm Show in Raleigh.  This year’s event is scheduled for February 3, 2017 at 7:30 am in the Holshouser Building on the State Fair Grounds.

Applications need to be submitted online by Saturday, December 31, 2016.  Upon completion of the evaluation process, the winner will be contacted and asked to attend the Breakfast event.

Please encourage individuals that you know to apply for this honor and give them the confidence to create a brighter tomorrow in the agriculture industry.

Participants are welcome to apply online by clicking here.  If you would like a copy of the application e-mailed to you in Word format or have any further questions, please contact us at 919-284-3431 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
